Does anyone have Molly's trunk? My father-in-law wants to get it for my daughter for Christmas. It seems so expensive for a 7 yr. old who will really play with it. They were in AGPNY yesterday and picked up the velour suit for her. They said there was a big display of them and they still had Molly's Aviator for $12.00 too.

I do not have Molly's trunk. I have Samantha's. I do like having a trunk for her items but, have found that there isn't a whole lot of point. Most of the clothing will not fit in there. It is limited on space and the money can maybe be served in getting something else.
I would say that if you are interested in storing her items get Kit's trunk. Her's is lovely and can store many more items with better organization.
With most of the trunks I would say the "play" value isn't all that great. Molly and Samantha's really don't seem like a play thing at all. Kirsten, Kit, Addy, and Josefina's trunks seem to go much more with the story lines.
Good luck with your descision.

Hi,
I'm new! I'm Ria's friend. I love this board - it's lots of fun! I have Molly's trunk! However, I do agree that the other trunks might be more useful altho I don't have any of the other kind. I only have Samantha and Molly's trunks. I think they would be great for travelling - like to the grandparents. Anyway, I am planning on selling it so if you're interested, pm me. Nice to be here! Thanks Kim. I love your Westie dog picture with Coconut. I had a Maltese that looked a lot like a Westie and I bought coconut because she reminded me of my dog Boomer. Boomer got cancer and died last Monday less than a month after we found out about the cancer. My husband and I are still in shock. Ardis

Thanks for the advice. We have created our own storage solution. We used pictures from the catalogs and decaoupaged hat boxes. We have one for Molly, one for Nicki (Bitty), I'm working on one for our new ebay doll Dorothy, and I have an extra just in case. They stack nicely and don't take up much room. I guess the trunk would be more for storage later if/when she goes thru that teenage stage when dolls aren't the priority. Plus if Grampy is set on giving it to her for Christmas who am I to deprive him of the joy of giving - Ha! We'll just wait and see.

I agree. If he wants to buy it let him have that joy. It isn't that your daughter won't use it. Marina mostly keeps all of Sam's accessories in the box. I am happy with having the trunk to keep all of those smaller items in that she doesn't really play with often and then keep the rest of the items more available to Marina for playing with.

I have molly's, samantha's, kirsten's and addy's trunks and I have difficulty fitting all of Molly's things in it. I am two outfits shy of a complete collection and I know they just simply will not fit.
Addy's and Kirsten's trunks do hold everything and for sheer storage I recommend them. Hope this helps.
